Axiom Space’s Mission Control Center completes first International Space Station payload operation

The new Axiom Mission Control Center (MCC-A) inside Axiom Space’s Houston headquarters will serve as the heartbeat of future space operations, including the upcoming Ax-1 mission, the first-ever all-private astronaut mission to the orbiting laboratory.

Axiom’s ops teams celebrated a major milestone when MCC-A recently conducted its first-ever on-orbit operation on the International Space Station, successfully supporting the SQuARES payload’s scientific research.

The MCC-A is now registered and validated as a payload operations site, and actively receiving voice and video from NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. This new capability enables Axiom to connect, engage, and communicate via voice and video to support ISS payload operations.

This historic accomplishment, an Axiom mission control center supporting on-orbit payload operations, is a significant milestone to ensure mission success ahead of Ax-1 and all Axiom on-orbit operations that will follow on the road to a thriving low-Earth orbit economy.
