Axiom Space and the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration between the company and the Slovak space sector. The signing was held during a Slovak networking event at the International Astronautical Congress in Sydney, Oct. 1, 2025, where a dozen Slovak companies presented their capabilities.
“The space economy is one of the key drivers of Slovakia’s diversification toward a knowledge-based economy,” said Robert Simoncic, Chief Executive Officer at SARIO. “I am pleased to see that even shortly after joining major international platforms such as ESA and IAF, concrete global collaborations are already emerging.”
The memorandum aims to facilitate collaboration on the development of orbital data centers, coordinating access across multiple operators and providers, to support the integration of Slovak space companies into Axiom Space‘s global supply chain. The aim is to support satellite construction and operations, suborbital and orbital launch services, development and hosting of research payloads, and building STEM outreach activities.
Anand Subramanian, Chief Growth Officer at Axiom Space, said, “I’m thrilled to announce the MOU with the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO). This agreement looks to build cross-industry collaboration, increasing the potential for research opportunities among Slovak space companies. By fostering collaboration, we broaden the scope of exploration and unlock new avenues to grow a global space economy.”
Michal Brichta, Space Director at SARIO, added,“We are delighted to see the increasing interest of major industry players in collaborating with our space industry and researchers. This is the best signal that the growing Slovak space sector has a lot to offer.”
The memorandum formalizes ongoing cooperation between SARIO and Axiom Space, which over the past year focused on exploratory and matchmaking activities. These efforts have already generated the first opportunities for cooperation in research and development, business, and talent-building.
