Axiom Space will host a virtual press conference with the Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) astronauts following their return from a successful 20-day mission. The crew will share mission highlights, personal reflections from their time on orbit, and the broader significance of Ax-4 for their respective nations.
The Ax-4 crewmembers, led by Commander Peggy Whitson of the U.S., includes Pilot Shubhanshu Shukla of India, Mission Specialist Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski of Poland, and Mission Specialist Tibor Kapu of Hungary. For each of these countries, this mission realized the return to human spaceflight, as they launched national astronauts for the first time in more than 40 years. Additionally, this marked the first time astronauts from India, Poland, and Hungary conducted a mission on board the International Space Station.
The crew launched aboard SpaceX Dragon “Grace” atop a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on June 25 at 1:31 a.m. CT. After undocking from the International Space Station on July 14, they safely splashed down off the coast of California on Tuesday, July 15 at 4:31 a.m. CT.
