Axiom Space's historic mission, Ax-1, will be lifting off from Cape Canaveral, Florida to embark on a ten-day mission into low-orbit where its crew will spend eight days aboard the International Space Station (ISS) conducting a complement of microgravity research and outreach activities. You are invited to come bear witness as the Ax-1 crew, comprised of Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria, Pilot Larry Connor, and Mission Specialists Eytan Stibbe and Mark Pathy, take off as history’s first fully private mission to board the ISS.

Where will the launch take place?

Ax-1 launch will lift off from historic launchpad 39A located at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Axiom Space will be hosting several viewing events at similarly distanced locations within the Kennedy Space Center Complex.

When will the launch occur?

Ax-1 launch is currently targeted for no earlier than April 8th, 2022, 11:17 AM EDT.

*Please note that many factors are considered before a launch attempt, even within hours of liftoff. When booking travel and accommodations, please keep in mind that variables such as weather or technical issues can cause a launch to become unfavorable and rescheduled to a later date. It is highly recommended to book refundable flights and hotels.

What is the pre-launch celebration event?

The Ax-1 mission crew and Axiom Space are personally inviting valued guests to an exclusive party to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The event is scheduled for the evening of April 5, 2022 at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, FL. Additional information will be sent as event approaches. 

Where should I book accommodations?

Please refer to your emailed communication from the Axiom Space Guest Operations team.

How will I access the event and launch?

Transportation will be provided to access the several viewing locations at KSC. Guests will not be able to drive directly onto the KSC property. We will send out detailed instructions one week prior to launch.
